Funny Games
Inspired by London’s summer of sport, illustrator Redouane Oumahi, founder of consultancy This is Playtime, has created the Funny Games project, set to be exhibited at London’s Kemistry Gallery.

The works by the French-born, Sweden-based designer aim to ‘find comical elements among the tension and passion that is so often evident in sport’.

More sinisterly, Oumahi says the exhibition is also inspired by Funny Games – Michael Haneke’s gruelling 1997 Post-Modernist thriller, in which a family is taken hostage and forced to play sadistic ‘games’.

As such, works such as Playtime is Over Kids, and the gruesomely-nosed characters in the Playcards take on a darker and rather more sinister edge.

As well as Oumahi’s works, the exhibition will also feature collaborations with Swedish artist Jacob Dahlgren and textile designer Simon Key Bertman.

Playtime is Over Kids
This is Playtime – Funny Games, is at Kemistry Gallery, 43 Charlotte Road, London EC2, from 25 October-24 November.
