*Yaaawn* Why do all tabloid websites need to be the same old fill-the-page-as-much-as-you-can design? It just seems so uninspiring.

50 plus. It's a much-used term. But would we talk about 'under 50' as a whole user group or market place? Probably not because you can't lump babies, children, young people and people in early and middle adulthood together. It would be great to see some work on redesign of attitudes as well as products, services and resources so that we really make the most of understanding this complex, three-generation age group.

Corporate Culture creates new Diabetes UK identity

I work in design but also have diabetes. Very disappointed in this - looks very amateurish and I'm not impressed with the i as a graphic device - makes us look like an Information centre. I liked the idea of the humming bird representing balance - something we all live with when we have diabetes. Can't see how this relates to diabetes

Is a Hockney painting still a Hockney painting when it’s created on an iPad?

I have been using an iPad and Brushes app for a year or more and no, it isn't vector based and i am making very similar marks to those i make with a pen. The really interesting thing is making marks that are innately about the medium and not pretending to be another (painting for example). Hockney seems to have achieved that. They look like what they are. The great thing i find is that the iPad is more about "mixing and matching" as each mark can float on its own and coalesce from a distance.

Teenage Cancer Trust unveils new identity

I'm not sure how to say this, as I'm sure you're a fine organization with an admirable mission. I personally don't have an issue with the logo aspect of your re-brand. It's your demographic, and the name of your organization that I see as potentially problematic.

Your mission is to help young people, aged 13-24. Great! Why call it something that resembles your demographic more closely? The term "Teenage" implies that you do not help folks past the age of 19. It's a little weird to be thinking of a young adult (20-24) being counted as part of a teenage demographic. Again, please realize that I love your mission. But, your name is a tad bit misleading.

With your re-brand, it would have been far more encouraging to see you redesign your name to match your mission. Names are just as important as graphics, as spreading the word requires words first, graphics second. :)

Hope you do not take offense at my words, as I only mean them with the best of intentions. I hope any future rebranding efforts will include some notation or indication of the full demographic you serve.

Design LSM works on Michelin-Starred Indian restaurant

I associate Indian cuisine with warmth both in the food spices but also in the interior decor - spacious yet cosy. I love the fact that the design team travelled India for inspiration but from the drawings above it feels cold and not terribly innovative. I hope the real thing translates better. There are many 'sophisticated and tranquil dining experiences in London not sure this positions them differently to where they are currently at with attracting customers based on their reputation for food. I look forward to seeing real photos in Design week once job is completed.

I like the packaging, clean, fresh and modern, and how the calorie content is a feature. Not sure about the colour coding though, don't think it needs to be that dumbed down. Overall a nice design I think.
