Apple has TV in its sights with new product mooted
Apple will unveil a new version of its Apple TV product next month, according to reports.
Apple is reportedly set to launch a new version of its Apple TV product, which will be “more polished” and “drastically improved”.
Buzzfeed says the new Apple TV is set to launch at the company’s annual autumn event next month and will feature new product designs as well as improved user interfaces and Siri voice control.
The Apple TV set-top box was first launched in 2007 and the most recent version came to market in 2012.
According to Buzzfeed, the new Apple TV will feature a “more polished” and “slimmer” product design, as well as new features including a touch-pad remote.
The report says that Apple’s long-predicted subscription TV service is unlikely to launch next month and that the new Apple TV will launch as a standalone.
Apple’s 2014 autumn event saw it unveil its much-anticipated smartwatch – the company’s first foray into wearable technology.
Despite heralding the launch of the watch, Apple has subsequently been coy about its commercial success and won’t reveal how many units it has sold.
Apple’s most recent product launch was the new version of its iPod Touch – updated for the first time since 2012 – which launched last month.
