BBC executive creative director Marcelo Marer joins Intel

Former BBC executive creative director Marcelo Marer is joining the Intel Digital Home Group as chief creative director.

Marer, who starts this month, has a background in broadcast design and will work in Intel’s digital home group department, which produces products for PCs and in-home consumer electronics devices.

Marer was unavailable for comment this morning, but a BBC spokeswoman confirms that he has left and is succeeded by Julia Whitney, who takes over in the position of executive creative director.

Marer’s move comes after former BBC director of future media and technology Erik Huggers joined the Intel Digital Home Group as vice president and general manager in January.
