Some people may say typography is dull, but think again. Typographer Jeremy Pettis has created a typographic study for every letter of the alphabet, with an animal representing each one. The project aims to show how much life typography has – hopefully the type will linger in your mind longer than the average word would.

Design Week has been going typography mad in the past few weeks, so why stop now? US-based cartography company Axis Maps has recently launched a new mapping project, accurately depicting streets, parks, neighbourhoods, coastlines and physical features of a city using nothing but type. Clever work.

For those who remember the agony and humiliation of puberty, it would seem it is difficult to sum it up in just one minute. However, Alexander Gellner has done just that in a strong, fast and fluid animation that summarises those adolescent years perfectly. Track and sound design is by Niklas A Kröger.
