After a long career as head of packaging design at Nestlé, Lars Wallentin knows the importance of efficient packaging communication. Wallentin has some interesting reflections on his blog – he even suggests that packaging lags five years behind the development of communication in general.

The Grain Edit site focuses on classic design work from the 1950s until the 1970s. Check out its recent blog post following renovations at the Notting Hill Gate Tube station – an original Royal Blue Coach Services poster illustrated by Daphne Padden hasbeen discovered.

Dieter Rams has created a simple site, giving ten principles for good design – and these are not dissimilar to the Ten Commandments. This includes the principles that good design should be unobtrusive, honest, aesthetic and ’as little design as possible’ – remember, less is more.
