Brinley Clark wins New Designer of the Year Part Two award

Brinley Clark, from the University of Hertfordshire, has won the Business Design Centre New Designer of the Year 2011 award at Part Two of this year’s New Designers event, for his graphic design project Shit or Miss.

Clark also picked up the New Designers Virgin Atlantic Award for Graphic Design for the project, which focuses on ‘how rare it is for a bird to shit on you’.

The other award winners for Part Two of New Designers were: Martin Jordan of Huddersfield University, Luke Diaz of Bucks New University, Steve Green of Bournemouth University, Luke Newman of De Montfort University, Buster Palmano of Brunel University, Oksana Akishyna of American Intercontinental University, Suzie Button of West of England University, Lucinda Ireland of Nottingham Trent University and Best Stand Award winner Northumbria University.

Neil Conley was chosen as the winner of the One Year On Award Part Two.

New Designers Part Two runs until 9 July at the Business Design Centre in London.

The winners of New Designers Part One were announced last week, with Louise Tiler from Leeds College of Art and Design winning the BDC New Designer of the Year Award and Elizabeth Humble winning the One Year On Award.

The other Part One award winners were: Filipa Oliveira at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Bryony Jackson at Bucks New University, Laura Daley at University for the Creative Arts Farnham, Henrietta Scholes at Bath Spa University, Jill Shaddock at Manchester School of Art, Sam Fenn-Johnson at Herriot Watt University, Carrie Osborne at Leeds College of Art, Laura Jane Davenport at the University of Huddersfield and Best Stand Award winner Hereford College Art.
