British Council awards young interactive entrepreneur

Anup Tapadia from India has been named as the British Council’s Interactive Young Entrepreneur 2010.

The award is part of the British Council’s Young Creative Entrepreneur programme, which aims to identifies the best young leaders and innovators between the ages of 25 and 35 and also includes awards for design entrepreneurs.

Tapadia is the founder of digital technology company Touch Magix, which develops large-scale displays for clients including Nike, Reebok, Intel and Nokia.

Special commendations were awarded to Ulises Valencia, founder and creative director of Grupo W in Mexico and Muhamad Lukman, head of design at Pixel People Project in Indonesia.

The finalists for the award have been in the UK for a programme of meetings to build contacts with the UK interactive industry and Tapadia will receive support from the British Council to develop projects linking India with the UK.
