Civic Trust Awards recognise V&A and Norwich Cathedral
A total of seven Special Awards have been given out at the Civic Trust Awards, with winning projects including the Victoria & Albert Museum’s Medieval and Renaissance Galleries by Muma, and Norwich Cathedral Visitors Centre by Hopkins Architects.
The awards recognise architecture, design, planning, landscape and public art.
Muma’s V&A work received the Special Award for Sustainability, while the Norwich Cathedral project received the Michel Middleton Special Award for a project within a conservation area.
The Stonebridge Hillside Hub in Brent, by Edward Cullinan Architects, received the Special Award for Community Impact and Engagement, and the refurbishment of Glasgow’s Briggait fish market by Wasps Studios/Nicoll Russell Studios received the Special Award for Scotland.
The Special Award for Restoration and Refurbishment went to the McManus Galleries in Dundee; the West Centre in Glasgow, by Anderson Bell Christie, won the Special Award for Inclusive Design; and the Tyne Cot Cemetery in Zonnebeke, Belgium, by Govaert & Vanhoutte Architectenburo won the National Panel award.
A total of 27 awards were given out, from 333 international entries.
