Creatives to discuss London’s future at RCA conference

The Royal College of Art’s Innovation Centre is bringing together a  panel of design experts including Richard Seymour of Seymour Powell to discuss how the creative sector can help shape London’s future.

Part of the Story of London 2010 festival, set up by the Mayor of London’s Office, the event will take place at the Victoria & Albert Museum on Friday.

Joe Kerr, design theorist and head of critical and historical studies at the RCA, will host the discussion panel which will also include sustainable design expert Max Fordham of Max Fordham Partnership, Michael Casey of Michael Casey Architects, and Chris Wise, the engineer behind the Millennium Bridge and the London 2012 Olympic velodrome.

Casey will speak about his proposition to reshape London’s East End after the 2012 games.

Organisers of the event say discussions will focus on London’s future and ‘the wider challenges of 21st– century urban living’.
