Dalston open studios

Founded in 1977, Dalston-based Bootstrap Company is a development trust, social enterprise and charity that has worked to develop cultural and creative projects in its corner of London.

As well as running several studio spaces, which house more than 60 micro-organisations, the company runs open studios to show young people about what different areas of the creative industries are all about.

And it’s the latter part that the Bootstrap want help with. During November, the studio will be running a week-long Open Studio, which aims to show young people in Hackney what careers are open to them in the creative industries.

If you are Hackney-based and interested in sharing your skills, experience and tales from you career with groups of keen youngsters, then Bootstrap want to hear from you. The key areas that the talks will be focussing on are film and visual arts, music/audio, design, fine art and photography.

If you’re interested in inspiring some creative 16-18-year olds, then visit www.bootstrapcompany.co.uk for more information.
