E3 Media redesigns National Curriculum website

E3 Media has redesigned the National Curriculum website in an attempt to make it more useful to teachers.

The Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency was prompted to commission a complete overhaul of the site to help prepare teachers for the introduction of a new primary curriculum, due to come into force next year.

E3 Media undertook user-testing and research, and found that the site’s users wanted it to offer more interactive tools and rich media content.

‘Rather than featuring large amounts of text-based content, users will be able to interact with a number of collaboration tools such as a “curriculum design tool” and a “take the curriculum tour” video,’ says E3 Media joint managing director Stuart Avery.

The site includes a case study library that teachers will be encouraged to contribute to.

Phase one of the site is due to launch at the end of the month.
