UXUS has recently overhauled the beauty department at Selfridges in London, and the consultancy is also redesigning the retail offer at Tate Modern, including the store in the upcoming Herzog and de Meuron-designed extension.

FutureBrand says UXUS – which has its headquarters in Amsterdam and an office in California – will retain its identity and operational autonomy in the deal. FutureBrand itself is part of the Interpublic group.

Patrick Smith, chief executive of FutureBrand, says, ‘In UXUS we found the ideal opportunity to bolster our retail design business… Our joint ambition is to truly globalise the UXUS brand in the next three-to-five years.’

A UXUS statement says the deal will ‘provide us with access to new sectors and markets and enhance our ability to scale rapidly to meet any brief’.
