Art Vinyl has announced the winner of its 2015 album cover art competition, as Dave Gilmour’s “Rattle That Lock”.

Drenge’s “Undertow” comes second, and Tame Impala’s “Currents” comes third.

The cover design for “Rattle That Lock” was designed by Dave Stansbie for Creative Corporation, with landscape photography by Rupert Truman and Storm Studios.

“Undertow” was designed with photography by Donald Milne, while “Currents” was created by Kevin Parker Artwork and Robert Beatty.

The three winners were picked from a shortlist of 50 record sleeves, which also included 2015 albums from the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Blur and Byörk.

Andrew Heeps, founder at Art Vinyl, says: “It’s interesting that two of the top three are conceptual compositions, using photography as the core of the design, and all three use digital design skills to great effect, showing that designers are using all tools available to them throughout the creative process.”

The three winners of the Best Art Vinyl 2015 award are set to feature in exhibitions across Europe. Visit the Art Vinyl website to view the full list of 2015 winners and nominees.
