AWWA-QG Progress Eagle concept, by Oscar Viñals

22bA Barcelona-based designer has created a concept for an “environmentally friendly” airplane, which incorporates the use of wind turbines and solar panels. Oscar Viñals has designed the visuals for the “AWWA-QG Progress Eagle” based on the concept of “improving the physical characteristics of the commercial airplane and reducing the environmental impact”. Features include the use of hybrid solar cells on the roof of the plane, superconductive turbofan engines which act as wind generators, a carbon dioxide cleaner, a radio frequency and electromagnetic power-harvesting system, and hydrogen-fuelled engines. “The principle purpose was to design an eco-friendly concept aircraft that could generate its own energy and be quieter than current planes,” Viñals says.
