Edward Johnston book design, by Webb & Webb
Consultancy Webb & Webb has designed a book on Edward Johnston, celebrating the centenary of his London Underground typeface.
Edward Johnston: A Signature for London has been written by Richard Taylor and published by Unicorn Press, and coincides with Transport for London’s (TfL) Transported by Design festival running in July.
The book includes illustrative detail on the creation of Johnston’s typeface, which has been used throughout London’s transport system, most prominently to demonstrate names of tube stations.
