True North has created a giant advent calendar in Manchester’s Northern Quarter working with design consultancies and illustrators to place a surprise behind each window.

As each artwork is revealed it will become available to buy with all profits going to Wood Street Mission, a charity helping children dealing with the effects of poverty.

Using its 24 Lever Street home, True North has collaborated with interior designer Sheila Bird and illustrators including Stanley Chow, Young and Deanna Halsall. Other consultancies involved include The Neighbourhood, Music, Hyper Island.

True North creative director Ady Bibby says: “We wanted to find a way to demonstrate the Northern Quarter’s creative talent while bringing a little festive cheer to the people who live and work here. I’m a big kid when it comes to Christmas and it doesn’t get bigger than this.”
