Sean Miles, designer at DesignWorks, has created a one-off phone for O2 made out of grass cut from Twickenham Stadium.

The phone has been created by O2 Recycle to promote the Recycle for Rugby scheme, which supports the RFU’s new social responsibility programme Try for Change.

The fully-functional phone took more than 240 hours to build. It uses tens of thousands of blades of grass, which were freeze-dried before being pulped and molded into a template. This was then covered in eco-friendly resin.

The phone also uses locally-sourced wood for the buttons and recycled mobile phone parts internally.
