Children’s author and illustrator Lauren Child has spent the last 30 years painstakingly working on a dolls house, which is to be displayed at the House of Illustration.

It is the first time the completed dolls house will be shown to the public who can also view sets from her book The Princess and the Pea, which is illustrated with three dimensional miniature scenes.

Visitors looking at the Dolls House will be able to see how collage techniques adopted in her series Chalie and Lola are drawn from her experience of constructing and playing with dolls houses.

You can see it from 30 October at The House of Illustration, 2 Granary Square, King’s Cross, London, N1C 4BH
