Peckham Coal Line proposal

A proposal has been put forward to turn disused coal sidings on railway track in London’s Peckham into an elevated urban park.

The idea is much in the same vein as The High Line in New York where a similar scheme opened to the public in 2011.

The Peckham Coal Line is being crowdfunded through a Spacehive campaign and has already received backing from The Mayor of London’s High Street Fund and local Peckham businesses.

It will stretch from Queen’s Road Peckham to Rye Lane offering views of London over a 900m route before dropping down into a little used nature reserve.
