Secret 7”, the annual auction calling on artists and designers to recreate music cover art, has opened.

It will invite creatives globally to recreate covers for 7 tracks, resulting in an exhibition of 700 sleeve artworks at Sonos Studio in Shoreditch, London from 8 April – 1 May.

After the exhibition, the artworks will then go on sale on 2 May at £50 each. Buyers won’t know who the record is by or who has designed the sleeve until paying, emphasising the “secret”, say the organisers.

This year’s seven tracks will be John Lennon’s Imagine, Etta James’ At Last, Max Richter’s Dream 3, The Jam’s Art School, Tame Impala’s The Less I Know The Better, Chvrches’ Clearest Blue and Jack Garratt’s Worry.

Designers can submit proposals via the Secret 7” website.

All profits from the sales will go to Amnesty International UK.
