Striving for Adequacy, by Office of Craig
Striving for Adequacy: A Peppered Visual History of Barnsley Football Club is a tongue-in-cheek exhibition designed by Craig Oldham’s Office of Craig and offers an irreverent take on the club’s perennial mediocrity.
Overall it offers a “visual kick-about” with a club, which has spent more time in the second tier of English football than any other team.
As much about the enduring spirit of the fans as the questionable skills of bygone Barnsley teams, the exhibition focuses on banners, zines, shirts, as well as “the shittiest players ever to wear them” according to the curators.
Striving for Adequacy: A Peppered Visual History of Barnsley Football Club runs until December at Barnsley Civic gallery, Hanson St, Barnsley S70 2HZ
