Ways of Seeing, by Morag Myerscough and Luke Morgan

Morag Myerscough and Luke Morgan have created new installation Ways of Seeing in Mexico City’s Zocalo Square.

The structure operates as a huge camera obscura. The phrase “mirar y ver” (“look and see”) is written on the top and Myerscough and Morgan say: “From the outside the installation gives away some clues of what it is, but they are not overtly obvious.”

Inside the structure is a completely black room which has the outside view projected on the wall as a two-dimensional upside-down image.

The work was commissioned by Abierto Mexicano de Diseño Festival and the British Council and responds to this year’s festival theme of “Solutions”.
