Bags of talent
Although street artist Ben Eine is more used to daubing unwanted paint on London’s shop fronts, this week he has been commissioned to create an installation in the window of trendy designer Anya Hindmarch’s Sloane Street store.
Eine is best know for his giant colourful typography, which can been seen around East London. His work on the Anya Hindmarch store features somewhat jarring rebellious and patriotic slogans such as ‘smash and grab’ and ‘defend the crown’.
In yet another example of graffiti’s commercial pull, the store has launched a range of tote bags emblazoned with Eine’s trademark typography. His chunky lettering spells out the cheeky ‘loot’ and ‘booty’ on the bags.
If there’s a joke intended, then it’s undoubtedly on the store’s clientele, who will be shelling out a whopping £145 per bag to buy into the Ben Eine brand.
nice design 🙂
