Black and Ginger helps with Green wall for Rhubarb project

Liverpool-based Black and Ginger has helped develop the concept of a Green wall for office development Rhubarb, opposite the Custard Factory in Digbeth, Birmingham.

The 12m-high wall is being cultivated off-site and is due for installation at the end of this month. Black and Ginger worked with developer Blok and architect Bryant Priest Newman on the project.

Black and Ginger has been working on the branding, advertising and digital marketing for Rhubarb for 18 months, says director Alex Frech. The consultancy has also developed huge stickers which have been fixed to the wall of the building to promote it.

Frech says, ‘We like the project so much we may even open an office there later.’

We are the Architects responsible for the design of Rhubarb in Digbeth.

Your headline and opening paragraph is a little misleading and just to clarify, Black and Ginger are responsible for the branding of the building, along with the advertising – and a fantastic job they’ve done of it too! As the Architects, we are responsible for the design of the building and this includes the design and specification of the green wall.

This is a very exciting project, and has certainly gained a lot of interest in the area. The green wall is likely to be installed within the next 4 weeks, and as far as we are aware, it’s the first of its kind in Birmingham.
