Kenji Ekuan honoured

Japanese industrial designer Kenji Ekuan is to receive the Sir Misha Black medal for his contribution to design education.

Ekuan co-founded GK Industrial Design Associates in 1957, when it was arguably Japan’s only design group. It is now one of the world’s largest.

The Sir Misha Black medal has been awarded nine times since Sir Misha’s death in 1977. The awarding committee’s members include the Royal College of Art and the Chartered Society of Designers.

Ekuan will receive his award at the RCA on 21 March before delivering a lecture on his work.
