Gensler design group for UK

International architectural practice Gensler has set up a multidisciplinary design unit in the UK under the Studio 585 brand.

Studio 585 already exists in many of the 23 countries Gensler operates in, but this is the group’s first venture into the UK.

It is staffed by former Torch creative director Peter Carroll, appointed head of graphics and branding; Marla Brown, former executive vice president for Fitch US, is strategic development director; ex-Fosters and Partners associate Giuseppe Boscherini is design director for products. The fourth appointee is understood to be Jon Tollit, who last week resigned from Eva Jiricna Architects (DW 26 January).

The unit, which launches officially in a month, will offer graphics, branding, retail and product design and strategic consulting.
