FutureBrand on the lookout for MD

FutureBrand is looking to appoint a new managing director for its UK office, following the surprise resignation of Elizabeth Finn (pictured right) last week.

Finn’s resignation, for unspecified personal reasons, leaves the top UK job vacant at the branding consultancy that is owned by the Interpublic Group.

Finn moved into her position in February 2003 following the acquisition of Coleman Planet, where she was managing director (DW 27 February 2003). She is not expected to work a lengthy notice period.

FutureBrand chairman and chief executive Jean-Louis Dumeu will oversee the running of the group’s UK office, as well as the appointment of a managing director.

‘It is a very unusual situation, and one which was not expected,’ says Dumeu.

‘I will focus on finding someone who knows the business. In my experience it is very difficult to bring in someone from outside the industry,’ he adds.

He expects the new managing director to bring experience and client relationships to the global business, and to fit with FutureBrand’s strategy and vision. Dumeu describes this vision as not only exploiting the talent within FutureBrand, but also growing the business by innovating for the future. ‘It’s all about growth,’ he says. ‘The market we are in now is very different to the one we were in a few years ago, and now we are about the future.’
