It will be headed by an account director and a senior designer, with a second designer to be recruited in the summer. B Group managing director Siobhán Bales (pictured) will travel to London about twice a week to help build client relationships.
B Group, which specialises in the tourism, health and education sectors, closed its previous London office in 2006. ’A lot of our national work dried up then so we were attracted back to the regions,’ says Bales. ’Now we need a north and a south again, so that we are not seen as a parochial, North East group.’
Once the office is up and running in September, B Group plans to launch its business news service B Daily in London and the South East in January 2011. The service, which includes an online business network, has been serving the North East since 2001, and is a ’central part of our consultancy and a unique offering’, according to Bales. The London office will be expanded to include an editorial team to launch the service.
