Creative London to report on design centre in the capital

Creative London is poised to publish the results of its preliminary audit into the creation of a national design centre in London.

According to head of Creative London Graham Hitchen, next month will see the publication of the London Development Agency-backed study, which seeks to sketch the initial parameters for a hypothetical London-based centre in response to the recommendations of the Cox Review last year.

It is understood that the audit, compiled with management consultant Arthur D Little, will consider three potential locations for the London centre.

A Cox Review steering committee, that includes Terence Conran, Norman Foster, Nicholas Serota and David Kester, has been formed to take the plans forward, though it is now thought that the Design Museum will not play a central part in a national centre.
