Kate Irving resigns from Rodney Fitch

Rodney Fitch Design Consultants joint chief executive Kate Irving has left the consultancy, as predicted last week (DW 25 April).

Irving quit by “mutual agreement” with the consultancy, according to Irving and a spokesman for Rodney Fitch Design Consultants. Irving says she and the consultancy “tried really hard to make it work but we couldn’t – my experience and what they needed were incompatible”.

The consultancy spokesman says joint chief executive Charles Watson and creative director Gabriel Murray will now handle business development.

Irving is negotiating with several other consultancies about her future and may also look beyond the design industry.

Rodney Fitch’s Asian operation has won two projects. The consultancy is developing a new identity and graphics programme for the 40 Park ‘N’ Shop supermarkets in Hong Kong and China. And the consultancy is to re-plan the 36 000m2 Season Plaza shopping centre in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
