Gorard Dean has created design guidelines for construction consultant Currie & Brown, as the company moves to deliver brand uniformity across its international offices following a restructure.

Refreshed signage, stationery, literature and a website, www.currieb.com, also created by the group, roll out this week. Gorard Dean won the five-figure brief without a pitch last summer.

Gorard Dean managing director Melanie Dean, says the group’s brief was to create design guidelines that would ‘portray Currie & Brown as a cohesive and dynamic international company’.

While Gorard Dean has maintained the company’s crimson and grey colours, it has replaced images and iconography in brochures with photos of recent and ongoing construction projects.

‘Previously, the company’s activities and services were inferred,’ continues Dean. ‘We feel the use of photography makes what [the business] does more understandable and conveys it in a more powerful and dynamic way.’

A standard look and feel has also been created for Currie & Brown’s main website and individual office websites. The sites now feature greater use of white space and are easier to navigate, according to Dean.
