I was astonished by the ignorance and arrogance displayed by Charles Trevail (Letters, DW 3 April).

Many smaller UK groups are run by bicultural and bilingual people, born and raised abroad, some with CVs that are astonishing in their depth and geographical coverage. In what sense are they UK-centric?

Of course, FutureBrand employees are instantly available, that is a sad reflection on the state of their business. When many of FutureBrand’s UK rivals have design and management teams three times the size, these comments are all the more surprising.

Hubris. Isn’t that a foreign word?
