Andrew Pyper’s thriller, Lost Girls

photography by Green Project

Photography partnership Green Project created the ethereal image for Andrew Pyper’s recent thriller Lost Girls in the suitably unnerving location of a derelict mental asylum. The effect was achieved by combining soft focus on the ghostly figure, allowing the natural light to saturate the room and then emphasising the cool tones by cross-processing, creating an unsettling yet beautiful atmosphere. The image was supplied by The Trevillion Picture Library to Macmillan’s in-house designer Richard Ogle, who then added delicate text that was both subtle yet sympathetic to the book’s theme.
