BAA heads Logan retail strategy in brief

UK airport operating group BAA has been awarded the contract to run all retail space at terminals B, D and E of Boston’s Logan International Airport.

The appointment will see the retail designs developed by London consultancy The Design Solution for BAA’s bid implemented.

Logan International is the 17th busiest airport in the US. The retail space consists of nearly 8000m2, into which BAA intends to invest more than £14m as part of an overall £1.3bn modernisation project by the Massachusetts Port Authority.

Design Solution director Robbie Gill says, “We have some great concepts that will make these terminals totally individual to Logan, the gateway to New England.”

The group has previously worked for BAA on projects at London’s Gatwick and Heathrow airports.
