Riney’s many talents come out of the closet

Biographical puff on US creative ‘legend’ Hal Riney, elevated into the Hall of Fame-style Dante Academy, reveals that the Publicis chairman and chief executive officer is a man boasting several closets.

Apparently one of them contains paraphernalia for skiing, sailing, film-making, photography, painting, carpentry and ‘many other activities’ at which we can only guess. All of these, he ventures, are covered in dust. His closets don’t stop there, though.

Riney has others containing the ‘rewards of a lifetime of creative achievement’: 24 Lions from Cannes and Venice, 19 Clios, 19 Andy Awards – we could go on.

Conspicuous in their absense from Riney’s closet contents list are skeletons.
