After sales service is always a real let down

Am I the only designer to find that companies selling Mac hardware and software, particularly in the mail order sector, are keen enough to let you spend thousands of pounds on their products, only to submit you to months of evasion? They put you on hold (no more string quartets please), allow your warranty to expire and then have the nerve to charge a small fortune to speak to a technician – that is if they bother to ring back at all.

Are we now to accept this as the norm? If so, this apparently unregulated runaway train is on the verge of putting one very frustrated individual out of business
