CSD deemed ‘irrelevant’

Many designers consider recent events at the Chartered Society of Designers as irrelevant to their businesses, judging by a straw poll conducted by Design Week.

Last week the resignation of CSD president Adrianne LeMan was revealed, with Lin Gibbon, formerly president-elect, stepping into the role (DW 4 December).

“I can see the whole thing being irrelevant to what’s happening in the design world,” says Lumsden Design Partnership managing director Callum Lumsden. Ergo partner Stuart MacKay says he is indifferent to events at the CSD.

The society has declined to comment throughout.
