The National Trust last week launched The Industrial Trust, with an identity by freelance designer Vernon Barber.
The Industrial Trust will act as an umbrella organisation, bringing together other industrial bodies for a range of projects. These will look to celebrate industry’s heritage and to examine its future.
“The logo [based on a cog] takes a fundamental element of industry which is still important today as a symbol for the new organisation,” says a National Trust spokesman.
Surrey group Pardoe Blacker created launch literature, with The National Trust and The Industrial Trust generating the name.
