Startling news from TMP.MSL recruitment

Recruitment consultancy TMP.MSL says demand for senior executives grew in every business sector in the last quarter of last year – except in design/ research and development.

The group’s figures – based on tracking of advertised jobs – came as something of a surprise at Design Week, which has been enjoying a record-breaking run of recruitment advertising by employers seeking senior staff. In fact, it is common for more than a dozen pages of vacancies to appear in any one issue.

A TMP.MSL spokeswoman says the research, ‘regarded by economy watchers as a leading indicator of economic growth’ is based on jobs that are advertised in national newspapers, taking no account of specialist magazines.

Perhaps economy watchers might like to watch a little more closely.
