Radical times call for radical thinking…

The really good news is that much of what Lynda Relph-Knight calls for (Comment, DW 3 February) – network co-ordination and rationalisation – is just beginning to happen.

The UK Design Alliance, promoted by the Design Council, should enhance and speed up the process. This is where we should start anyway, and radical times need radical thinking.

However, localism and local ownership are powerful forces, not to be discounted. This is, after all, what some national organisations forgot – hence the networks.
We now just need to join all of that energy up.
