Pure by Design adds colour to Collinges’ range

Pure by Design has created the £25 000 packaging for hairdresser Andrew Collinge’s first foray into hair colourants, in collaboration with his wife, make-up artist Liz Collinge.

Collinge & Collinge hair colour launches in Boots the Chemists nationwide later this month. It is the couple’s first professional collaboration.

The external packaging features photography by Robert Astley-Sparks, who was commissioned by Pure by Design. Illustrations on the internal packaging have been done in-house.

The packs need to communicate the product’s emphasis on matching hair colour to people’s skin tones, says Pure by Design director David Rogers.

‘The photography helps to highlight the Collinges’ knowledge of both hair and skin,’ Rogers adds.

The colour tones on the cap and main body of the ‘drum’ reflect the summer and winter shades used by colour consultants and the range is divided between these seasons, he adds.

Pure by Design won the project on the strength of previous work in the haircare sector.
