With a copy of Design Week under my arm I headed into our first team meeting of the year, excited about showing off the great coverage that we got as part of your article on our lovely friends R&D&Co (Profile, DW 4 January).

Instead, chaos erupted and I received a Dragon’s Den-style grilling for not telling anyone about our move into publishing for 2008. Perhaps then, decorum will return to next week’s meeting and my team’s previously unwavering confidence in their managing director can be restored. If you do plan to rethink our business model in the future, please let me know first, so I can prepare the troops.
