Fitting tribute to creativity blasts its way to the front

The timing couldn’t have been more poignant. Katherine Hepburn died last week and we received the National Endownment for Science, Technology and the Arts’ latest Issue – featuring a plucky quote from the feisty Hollywood legend – on the very day the newspapers splurged their tributes.

The Blast boys – for it was they who designed it – must have a hotline to the great clapperboard-holder in the sky.

‘If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun,’ the grand old lady apparently declaimed. Not a bad maxim for life, let alone creativity – about which Nesta has asked journalists including Paul Morley, Robert Hewison and Fiona Harvey to muse.
