Buddy Creative produces designs for Tate gift shop

Design Week Benchmarks award-winner Buddy Creative has created a series of designs for the Tate’s art materials and stationery products, which will roll out across the Tate’s gift shops in the next month.

Buddy Creative was appointed by head of merchandise at Tate Enterprises Helena Lawrence in January, after a Tate employee recommended the consultancy for the work.

‘The aim of the designs is to update the art gallery’s stationery offering by making it more appealing to younger customers,’ says Buddy Creative creative partner Mark Girvan.

One of the challenges for the design duo, which consists of creative partners Girvan and David Jones, was to create a set of designs that could be applied to the stationery in the long term.

Buddy Creative’s designs are being used on all art materials and will be available at all four Tate galleries: Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Tate St Ives and Tate Liverpool.
