History Channel gets Dunning Eley Jones refresh

Dunning Eley Jones will be creating the identity for the new Military History Channel.

The design is set to launch later this year and will be complemented by a series of rebranded idents for The History Channel.

The creative team will consist of DEJ creative director Brian Eley and designer Ed Walker. According to a Dunning Eley Jones spokeswoman the work is in the initial stages but will also include idents for The History Channel, as well as the creation of promotional work to launch the Military History Channel in the UK.

The consultancy was appointed by British Sky Broadcasting and A&E Television Networks at the end of June following a three-way creative unpaid pitch.

The networks rebranded the channels in the US where channel idents are not used. according to a DEJ spokeswoman. The group has been appointed to create a look for its UK audience.

This is regarding all of your programming. My husband and I really enjoy the History channel BUT we are getting so all your programs seem to have to have unnecessary “music” and drums on all of them. IT is very annoying and detracts from what we are trying to watch and sometimes it’s so loud we cannot hear what the people are saying. We do not have to have “music” all the time and we don’t need it for emphasis. We really don’t want to stop watching the History channel but will probably and that is a shame. Thank you!
