Omnicom-owned brand consultancy Siegel & Gale is expanding its leadership team with former Interbrand director Fred Burt joining in the new role of managing director.
His appointment by S&G’s co-president Howard Belk follows the appointment of former Wolff Olins business development director Martin Svensson last month.
Both Burt and Svensson have redeployed from Omnicomowned groups. Their moves follow a series of recent changes at both consultancies, with Interbrand merging its brand valuation and strategy teams in May and top-level changes occurring at Wolff Olins in April. However, according to Burt, this is ‘completely unrelated’ to both his and Svensson’s appointment.
Operating from S&G’s London office in Hammersmith, the pair will help the business build on its capabilities in key market sectors, which include the technology, entertainment, telecommunications and financial services. ‘We intend to keep expanding the S&G team and will be looking to evolve our brand strategy and management sectors,’ says Burt.
‘We are hoping to capitalise on opportunities in Western Europe as well as those in emerging markets in Russia and Turkey,’ says Svensson.
Burt adds that the consultancy will continue to strengthen its presence in Dubai and the Far East, where it already has completed projects for a number of financial institutions including an identity for the Islamic Development Bank.
