Trannies and the mafia are good for design

More than £17 000 was raised for Design Business Association initiative Design for Good by 11 teams at last week’s Design Pursuit car rally.

Blue Goose partners Chris Barrington and John Vollands caused much controversy in their TVR Chimaera.

‘At Gretna Green we were dressed as very attractive young women and ran into a registry office, not realising it was the middle of a wedding. John kissed the groom and offered to marry him, but it was all too late, as he’d already said his vows,’ says Barrington.

The six-strong Elmwood team won the event in a black stretch limousine. ‘We went as the Yorkshire mafia, wearing black suits and shirts,’ says senior designer Andrew Lawrence.
