Wolff Olins not in Disney frame

The Walt Disney Company has refuted reports that it has appointed Wolff Olins to brand its forthcoming tour operator service (DW 4 June).

According to a spokesman for the Walt Disney Attractions subsidiary, “For this particular project, we are not proceeding with Wolff Olins.”

He could not comment on reports that other groups, including Interbrand Newell and Sorrell, Jones Knowles Ritchie and The Company, are in line for the project, or say whether Wolff Olins is up for another Disney job.

In a letter to Design Week, a Walt Disney Company spokeswoman adds: “Our dealings did not reach the stage of creating a formal appointment and there has been no subsequent change to that position.”

According to a Wolff Olins spokesman, “Although Walt Disney Attractions and Wolff Olins have had discussions which are beneficial to both parties, that is the extent of our business relationship at present.”
