North creates Zopa website

North has designed the identity and website for Zopa, the Internet lending and borrowing exchange that launched this week.

Billed as the ‘e-bay of banking’, Zopa will enable prospective borrowers and would-be lenders to deal with each other on their own terms. The company will take a 1 per cent fee from borrowers and will collect monthly interest payments and distribute them among its lenders.

According to Zopa chief executive Richard Duvall, Zopa’s has identified a core market it calls ‘free-formers’. North was briefed to design an identity focusing on people that represented the market forces at work in the industry. Ad agency Karmarama is responsible for language and tone of voice.
